PROGRESS Wrestling are delighted to confirm that British wrestling icon Nikki Storm will be competing at Chapter 196: Scorchio on Sunday 26th July at Camden’s Electric Ballroom which will be her first appearance since departing WWE!
Storm, a true fan favourite of female British wrestling, has become a global star after spending a decade on the WWE roster between 2016 and 2026.
During her illustrious career in the ring, Storm has achieved significant title triumphs, winning the WWE Raw Women’s Championship in 2021 against Charlotte Flair, a three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Alexa Bliss (x2) and Rhea Ripley (x1), Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and WWE 24/7 Championship.
On the independent circuit, Storm enjoyed success as a three-time Pro-Wresting EVE Champion and Queen of the Ring in 2012, as well as being named as the Female Wrestler of the Year in 2015 by Scottish Wrestling Network and being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.
Initially signed to the NXT, Storm was then drafted to Smackdown, where the Scot, born and raised in Glasgow, excelled Stateside. After 10-years in WWE, most recently as part of the Wyatt Sicks stable, where she spent the last two years, Storm’s next target is PROGRESS Wrestling.
Details of Storm’s opponent will be announced in due course ahead of her match-up at PROGRESS Wrestling, as we welcome back to the UK, British Wrestling royalty.
Storm’s sensational appearance at Chapter 196: Scorchio comes at an exciting time for PROGRESS Wrestling’s Women’s division.
Following the recent success of the first-ever women’s Super Strong Style 16 tournament earlier this month, which was won by Rhio, who defeated Gisele Shaw at a packed Electric Ballroom on Bank Holiday Monday to make history, PROGRESS’ empowerment of female wrestling has continued to be showcased internationally.
On the announcement of Storm’s much-anticipated bout, PROGRESS Wrestling co-owner, Lee McAteer said: “PROGRESS has always been about giving fans the most exciting and authentic matches we can put on, and Nikki Storm’s appearance at Chapter 196: Scorchio is exactly that.
“To see what she has achieved as WWE Women’s Champion and to be part of such an iconic faction, the way of six, and having been featured at Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Night, it is a true honour to welcome her back into the PROGRESS ring.
“We’re delighted to have her in a PROGRESS ring which will be her first match since leaving WWE, and we can’t wait to see the reaction when she competes Camden.”
