Simon Miller

The Journey

Amidst PROGRESS Wrestling’s sea of captivating characters and rich storytelling, Simon Miller has emerged as one of the most compelling and unexpected success stories. From front-row fan to official host, and eventually to Proteus Champion, Miller’s evolution in PROGRESS is a living, breathing example of passion turned into purpose.

Simon Miller’s journey didn’t begin in the ring—it started in the crowd. A lifelong wrestling fanatic, Miller’s larger-than-life enthusiasm for the sport, honed through his popular online presence, captured the attention of PROGRESS management. That infectious energy led to his appointment as the official host of PROGRESS Wrestling—a role that allowed him to entertain, connect with the fans, and slowly inch closer to the action he had always dreamed of being part of.

His in-ring debut came in surprising fashion at Unboxing V, where he defeated Tate Mayfairs in an impromptu match. The result, though controversial, ignited a long-running rivalry with the ever-vocal “Tateness is Greatness.” Their feud simmered over a year, culminating in an intense and brutal street fight at Unboxing VI, where Miller finally settled the score, showing a darker, more determined side that had long been bubbling beneath his affable surface.

As Miller’s in-ring career progressed, so did his stature. Gone was the novelty act—this was a focused, driven competitor with something to prove. That drive reached a new peak when Simon Miller defeated the legendary Robbo (Robbie X) to win the Proteus Championship, marking his first title win in PROGRESS and proving he wasn’t just a fan living out a fantasy—he was a legitimate force in the promotion.

Miller’s reign as Proteus Champion was long, gritty, and filled with hard-fought defences. Whether facing bruisers, technicians, or high-flyers, Miller adapted, endured, and held his ground. His confidence as champion helped transform him from cult favourite to one of the brand’s most respected performers.

That reign ultimately came to an end in Las Vegas, where Hollywood star and surprise challenger Paul Walter Hauser dethroned Miller in a cross-promotional spectacle. Though the loss was a blow, it only added to the intrigue of Miller’s journey, proving his name had transcended the British scene and resonated on an international stage.

Most recently, Miller reached another major milestone: competing in Super Strong Style 16 for the first time. As one of the most prestigious tournaments in independent wrestling, SSS16 was a proving ground, and Simon Miller walked into it not just as a former champion, but as a fully-fledged PROGRESS star. His presence in the tournament signalled not just how far he’d come—but how much further he’s determined to go.

Simon Miller’s story in PROGRESS Wrestling is far from typical, but it’s that unpredictability that makes it so powerful. He didn’t arrive with a glittering indie résumé or years of experience. He arrived with a love for wrestling, a tireless work ethic, and the determination to prove he belongs. And with each chapter—each rivalry, each title defence, each new opportunity—Simon Miller continues to prove just that.
