We sat down with Robbo to discuss the match…
Robbo, you’ve held the PROTEUS Title since the Rumble match in 2019. How has this reign defined your career in PROGRESS Wrestling?
All reigns come to an end, this story never ends it. I’m never loosing this title. Winning the Proteus capped off years of hard work and graft and I have no plans to regress.
What has been your most memorable defence of the PROTEUS Title so far, and why?
Timothy Thatcher. I’ve never in the slightest doubted myself, I’m confident I can batter anyone on this planet but he’s one big nasty geezer. Tapped him out though, init.
Malik refers to himself as “The Hitta” and has promised to knock you out. How do you respond to his bold claims and confidence?
Meh, everyone is confident until they’re in the ring opposite me…
Do you see any particular weaknesses in Malik’s game that you plan to exploit during the match?
This is his first time under the spotlight all eyes on him in a championship setting. This ain’t my first rodeo, I’m welcoming him to my stage, my world, my manor. He thinks he’s in there for a fight and this is MORE than that.
What drives you to maintain your position as the PROTEUS Champion, especially after holding the title for such a long time?
Honestly. Fear. Not fear of my opponent but of what’s next. Without the Proteus I am nothing and without me, the Proteus is nothing.
Is there a level of respect between you and Malik despite the heated words exchanged, or is it purely a rivalry?
Nope. Him and Kosta are one and the same. Bottom feeders. They only have the platform they do because of me, a pair of fan boys that picked up some work because they tell people they’re my friend. I’m about to kick Malik’s head in and he should be thanking me for the pleasure.
What final words do you have for Malik ahead of your match at Chapter 169: The Evil On Your Shoulder?
Being a jumped up snide looking road man will not help you. Being able to fight will not help you. I’m going to show Malik a whole new world of violence. The sort that PROGRESS hasn’t seen from me for years.
Is there anything else you’d like to add about the upcoming match or your plans moving forward in PROGRESS Wrestling?
Malik, be ready to bleed coz for you, ya snide prick, the bad times are coming.
