From Nitro to Caballero, via Mundo and Morrison, the next logical step is, of course, PROGRESS.
The man known around the world as John Morrison has declared himself as entering PROGRESS Wrestling’s Super Strong Style 16 tournament starting on 3rd June and running for three consecutive nights at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, North London. He will take the appropriate epithet of Johnny PROGRESS for his debut in the company.
The recent news that the PROGRESS Wrestling World Championship will be up for grabs in the tournament has led to a global clamour from some of the biggest free agents in wrestling to be involved in the tournament, with only a very select few granted one of the limited remaining spots.
After winning the Tough Enough III competition of 2003, John would go on to have a very successful WWE career, over two stints, winning the ECW World Championship, the Intercontinental Championship on three occasions and becoming a six-time tag team champion with partners Joey Mercury and The Miz.
He has also travelled extensively, notably in Mexico, gaining success in every promotion he has wrestled in.
Throughout his career, John gained a deserved reputation for being innovative. Alongside The Miz, he co-hosted The Dirt Sheet, an online web-show filled with jokes and sketches that spawned dozens of copycat shows, few of which lived up to the original.
His in-ring style is also unique, adapting elements of parkour and martial arts alongside amateur wrestling techniques.
In the cauldron of Super Strong Style, with the array of different styles on show, Johnny PROGRESS offers yet another varied arsenal to the growing list of talent vying to win the vacant PROGRESS Wrestling World Championship.
Super Strong Style 16 takes place on 3rd, 4th and 5th June 2022 at The Electric Ballroom in Camden, London. Tickets are available now from PROGRESSWrestling.com/tickets.
