Lykos Gym, comprised of the duo Kid Lykos and Kid Lykos II, have carved out a legacy as one of the most distinctive and decorated tag teams in the modern era of PROGRESS Wrestling. Since their arrival as a cohesive force, Lykos Gym have been defined by their innovative offence, unorthodox tactics, and unrelenting tenacity inside the ring.

Their first major milestone came at Chapter 112: The Flowers Are Still Standing in June 2021, where they captured the vacant PROGRESS Tag Team Championships by defeating The Young Guns in a standout final. That reign saw the pair defend against all comers, including a memorable Doghouse Rules defence against the Big Money Gun Dogs. Though they eventually lost the titles to the Smokin’ Aces, it was clear Lykos Gym were here to stay.

From 2021 onwards, Lykos Gym remained a fixture of PROGRESS, locking horns with everyone from North West Strong to CPF to Sunshine Machine. Their style blended traditional British wrestling craft with the mischief and mind games that quickly became their calling card. In 2022 and 2023, the duo continued to chase gold, notably coming up short against Sunshine Machine in multiple title bids, yet consistently remaining in the top echelon of tag team contenders.

A significant victory came in October 2023 at Chapter 158: The Long Halloween, where Lykos Gym bested the Smokin’ Aces in a brutal 29-minute street fight. This win reaffirmed their edge in high-stakes, high-drama encounters. The momentum continued into 2024, highlighted by wins over the likes of Gene Munny & Taishi Ozawa and Boisterous Behaviour. Their No Ropes “I Quit” match win over Connor Mills & Nico Angelo at Chapter 178 added another brutal classic to their resume.

In the biggest moment of their PROGRESS careers to date, Lykos Gym reclaimed the PROGRESS Tag Team Championships at Chapter 181: Far From Ordinary People, defeating Sunshine Machine in Manchester. The victory was not without controversy, as Kid Lykos utilised a foreign object concealed in his kneepad to deliver a knockout flying knee to Chuck Mambo—a move unseen by both the referee and even his own partner, Kid Lykos II.

That win made history: Kid Lykos II became a two-time PROGRESS Tag Team Champion, while Kid Lykos became the only five-time champion in the promotion’s history. It was the culmination of years of hard-fought battles, clever strategy, and the kind of unpredictability that has made Lykos Gym such an enduring presence in the PROGRESS tag division.

With their latest reign just beginning, questions remain about the dynamic between the two Lykii, especially in the wake of the controversial title win. But if history is any indication, Lykos Gym will continue to bend the rules and raise the bar in equal measure, keeping fans both thrilled and guessing at every turn.
