Confirmed match card for WWE Clash in Paris
Only one match has been officially announced so far:
Stephanie Vaquer vs Naomi or Iyo Sky
Women’s World Championship Match
Vaquer earned the title shot after winning the Evolution Battle Royal. As of now, Naomi is still champion after defeating Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky at SummerSlam, but she is scheduled to defend her title against Sky on the 11 August edition of Raw in Quebec City. The outcome of that match will determine Vaquer’s opponent in Paris.
Also confirmed to appear:
John Cena, who is advertised for the show in what could be his final ever appearance in France as a WWE Superstar. His opponent is yet to be confirmed, though a potential clash with Brock Lesnar has been rumoured following Lesnar’s return at SummerSlam.
Expect more matches to be added in the lead-up to the event.
WWE Clash in Paris and the link to PROGRESS Wrestling
Clash in Paris follows the success of Backlash France in Lyon earlier this year, which saw Cody Rhodes defend the WWE Championship against AJ Styles and Tonga Loa make his WWE debut. That show built on WWE’s growing European fanbase and demonstrated the appetite for major wrestling events outside North America.
Much of WWE’s success in the UK and Europe stems from its long-standing relationship with independent promotions such as PROGRESS Wrestling, which has hosted early matches from talents including Pete Dunne, WALTER, Toni Storm, Gunther, Tyler Bate, and Kay Lee Ray – many of whom went on to WWE success. With PROGRESS celebrating its 100th Electric Ballroom show the previous weekend, the legacy and future of European wrestling are being showcased simultaneously by both promotions.
Do not miss WWE Clash in Paris
Clash in Paris is set to be one of the most talked-about wrestling events of the year, combining international star power with one of the most passionate fanbases in the world. With the electric atmosphere of European crowds and the added buzz of Forbidden Door weekend and PROGRESS Wrestling’s centenary show, this is a must-watch moment in modern wrestling.
