Now, as he prepares to collide with the theatre and intensity of Cara Noir, who is currently on a losing streak and showing signs of distress. We caught up with RKJ – who recently was announced for the N1 tournament in NOAH – ahead of his showdown on August 25.
Welcome back to PROGRESS. What are your goals upon your return?
It’s great to be coming back! I’ve also felt really good at PROGRESS, I’ve had some of my best matches in your ring! I think my goals are pretty clear, I want to be the number one here, I want to be the face of PROGRESS Wrestling and in order to do that, I’ll need to beat Cara Noir, and then after that I’ll turn my attention to the PROGRESS Men’s World Championship!
Tell us about your history with Cara Noir.
My history with Cara Noir is non-existent, I don’t think we have ever been in the same match! However my history with Tom Dawkins is very special, he has seen me grow from a very young age. We did wrestle when he was Tom Dawkins when I was around 13 years old!
I’ve always had a special bond with Tom he would come down monthly with Kosta and Malik. All three of them sort of took me under there wing, so this match is special to me for many different reasons.
It’s a first time match for you in PROGRESS. What are your goals expecting from him as he is on a current losing streak?
I’m expecting a lot, Cara Noir is one of the best wrestlers in the world and he has been for a while now!
Would you call yourself friends?
No I don’t think me and Cara Noir are friends, I’m not sure if anyone knows if Cara Noir is their friend! But after Monday I hope we have a level of respect…
