PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 184 Review

Match 1: PROGRESS Men’s World Championship

Man Like Dereiss (c) vs Charlie Sterling

The show opened with a World Title clash. Charlie Sterling used his power advantage early, but Dereiss targeted the knee to turn momentum.

Both men exchanged near falls, with Sterling connecting with a superplex and frogsplash, while Dereiss responded with a stunner, powerbomb, and frogsplash of his own.

The finish came when Dereiss landed a 450 Splash and locked in a Sharpshooter, forcing Sterling to submit.

This marked DeReiss’ first UK title defence and after the match, he unveiled a newly designed customised championship belt.

Match 2: Simon Miller vs Josh Holly

Josh Holly made his PROGRESS debut, but Simon Miller ended proceedings quickly. After the opening bell, Miller delivered two spears in succession before finishing the match with a Jackhammer. Miller secured victory in just 36 seconds.

Match 3: PROGRESS Women’s Championship

Rhio (c) vs Lucy Sky
Lucy Sky made her PROGRESS debut against Rhio, who entered carrying both of her title belts. The challenger used her size advantage early, including a fisherman’s suplex and Michinoku Driver, while Rhio responded with strikes and a crossbody.

Both women traded German suplexes and heavy forearms. The champion regained control late in the contest, hitting a Frankensteiner, dropkick and swinging neckbreaker before finishing with a package piledriver to retain the Women’s Championship.

Match 4: Ricky Knight Jr. vs Owadasan

Owadasan attacked before the bell with a chair, but once the match officially began Ricky Knight Jr. gained momentum. Knight hit a dropkick, DDT and superkick, while Owadasan delivered German suplexes and a neckbreaker for near falls.

Knight sealed the result with a sit-out piledriver for the pin.

Match 5: PROGRESS Atlas Championship

Gene Munny (c) w/ Session Moth Martina vs Will Kroos

In the Atlas Title contest, Gene Munny and Will Kroos exchanged heavy offence early. Kroos connected with a cannonball and later a Spanish Fly, while Munny landed a flying clothesline and a Death Valley Driver.

Session Moth Martina was ejected from ringside after attempting to get involved. The finish came when Kroos hit a spanish fly and his finisher for the win, becoming the new PROGRESS Atlas Champion.

Match 6: Cara Noir vs Alexander Lockheart

The new, terrifying Cara Noir faced Alexander Lockheart in singles action. Noir attacked before the bell with a low blow, controlling early on until Lockheart fought back with crossbodies, a spear and a stunner. Noir responded with a neckbreaker, powerbomb and Shining Wizard, but the finish came when he connected with a punt kick to Lockheart.

The referee ruled Lockheart unable to continue, awarding Noir victory via knockout. After the match, Noir delivered a package piledriver before being confronted by PROGRESS Champion Man Like Dereiss.

Match 7: Loser Leaves PROGRESS Match

Nina Samuels vs Kanji

The main event was a Loser Leaves PROGRESS contest between Nina Samuels and Kanji. Both targeted limbs throughout, with Kanji working over Samuels’ leg and Samuels responding by focusing on Kanji’s arm. The match featured multiple referee incidents, including a superkick to the official and a second referee being struck.

The action also spilled onto the entrance stage and commentary table. Back in the ring, Samuels connected with her “Star Struck” finisher for a near fall, but Kanji countered soon after, applying a Kimura lock. Samuels submitted, meaning she must leave PROGRESS Wrestling.

After the bell, Samuels exchanged gestures with Kanji before leaving to chants of “Thank you, Nina.”
