Charlie Crothers Charity Challenge for WrestleMania 42

“Cancer affects everybody, so I just want to give back to people.”

For Charlie Crothers, supporting cancer charities has become a cause that he is passionate about, ahead of his latest fundraising challenge in April 2026 during WrestleMania 42.

Charlie will take part in a Sky Jump off the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, in aid of Maggie’s Centres, having previously completed other challenges which raised valuable funds including a zipline, a 10k and a sponsored silence.

Maggie’s Centres are warm and welcoming places built alongside NHS hospitals that provide the support for people living with cancer as well as their friends and relatives.

Ahead of his next inspiring fundraiser, titled ‘Charlie’s Vegas Stratosphere Sky Jump,’ Crothers, a passionate PROGRESS Wrestling fan, explained the importance of raising awareness of cancer charities.

“I have been fundraising for 12 years’ since my mum was diagnosed with cancer,” Charlie said.

“I did two fundraisers for the Christie, I did a silence during a wrestling show dressed up in a wig and I did a 10k, both of those raised over £1,000. I then did a fundraiser in collaboration with a friend of mine as part of the gay brunch, which was another silence dressed as Tinky Winky.

“Wrestle Tours then started, and I came to them and said maybe it would be a good idea to use the platform to showcase charities and do a challenge each year in order to raise money for charity. We started on the Wrestle Tours and PROGRESS partnership back in 2024 where we went to Philadelphia and ran up the Rocky steps to raise £600 for Marie Curie, so that went well, we had somebody dressed up as Where’s Wally, they made me dress up as Tinky Winky again.

“Last year we did a zipline across the Vegas strip, that was for Maggie’s Centres, a charity that is worldwide known which is another reason why I decided to do it because a lot more people are aware of who Maggie’s are they are also aware it helps people around the world rather than just one region, so the exposure of the charity is a lot easy and it resonates with a lot more people.

Maggie’s is worldwide, there’s one in Tokyo, a couple in America and one in Germany, they are known which helps us which means that more money is raised, I’m a bit of a loudmouth and I’ve used my platform to give back and it’s really important because it needs to be recognised.

“Unless you’ve been through it yourself and I’m not just talking about being a patient, knowing a patient and knowing someone who has been through it, it’s a ripple effect.

“I wanted to do something again this year because of the success of the zipline, which was more successful than I anticipated, so that’s where the stratosphere jump came, which is a jump off the Stratosphere Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, which is 108 floors up and I’m scared of heights.

“These are the things you do to raise awareness for something as important as cancer support.

“Without these charities like Maggie’s Centres, the support is not there, which is why these fundraisers are so important.”

PROGRESS Wrestling and Wrestle Tours areproud to support Charlie’s sky jump as an associate partner of the challenge.

Charlie added: “PROGRESS is the biggest promotion in the UK, it’s one of the biggest promotions in Europe, it’s very recognisable all around the world and when you say independent wrestling, one of the first places that you say is PROGRESS Wrestling, and the platform helps me resonate with the fundraisers, whether that be a family member or a friend or somebody they know that has gone through it.

“PROGRESS Wrestling as a brand helps me massively, and the reason for that is the platform that they have, it’s massive.”

Lee McAteer, co-owner of PROGRESS Wrestling, commented: “Charlie has raised great amounts of money for wonderful causes. He always makes me do the challenges with him, and even after my shoulder came out last year in Las Vegas doing the zip wire when we jumped early, it was so worth it as it’s for such a wonderful cause. I hope that everyone will get behind him and help him beat what was achieved at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas once again. At some point people need to know why he’s called Tinky Winky… but will let Charlie explain that one!”
