Celebrating American Talent in PROGRESS Wrestling This 4th July

As fireworks light up the skies across the Atlantic this 4th of July, we at PROGRESS Wrestling are proud to be celebrating American Talent in PROGRESS Wrestling This 4th July

Since Chapter 1 in 2012, American talent has played a pivotal role in shaping the history of PROGRESS Wrestling – bringing their unique styles, energy, and legacies into our rings, and helping raise the bar every step of the way.

From legends and world champions to cult favourites and breakout stars, more than 75 American wrestlers have graced the canvas at PROGRESS chapter shows. Each has left their mark, whether through unforgettable matches, emotional moments, or unforgettable entrances that sent shockwaves through the Electric Ballroom and beyond.

It all began with Colt Cabana, who wrestled on the very first Chapter back in 2012. Since then, icons such as Samoa Joe, Ricochet, Chris Hero, and Tommaso Ciampa have brought international eyes to PROGRESS, introducing our fans to elite-level competition from across the pond.

We’re also proud to recognise the American wrestlers who not only competed in PROGRESS but won championship gold:

  • Matt Riddle captured the PROGRESS Atlas Championship, delivering brutal yet technical showdowns that remain some of the most talked-about in that division’s history.

  • Jordynne Grace became the first and only American woman to win the PROGRESS World Championship, a landmark achievement that broke barriers and set new standards for the company.

  • Jonathan Gresham, one of the most technically gifted wrestlers of his generation, also held the PROGRESS World Championship, bringing a pure wrestling style that enthralled fans.

  • The Protues World Championship is currently in the hands of American Hollywood star Paul Walter Hauser. Tag team excellence wasn’t left behind either: LAX (Santana & Ortiz) and The Besties in the World have graced our ring but NO American talent has ever held the tag gold… will that change in the future?

In recent years, we’ve seen the likes of MJF, Darby Allin, Mercedes Martinez, Shotzi Blackheart, Keith Lee, and Mustafa Ali bring their star power to the Ballroom – showcasing the evolution of American wrestling and its continued influence on our product. Whether in marquee matches, surprise debuts, or dream clashes, the red, white and blue has always had a place in the PROGRESS tapestry.

From technical masters like Timothy Thatcher and Johnny Gargano, to heavy-hitters like Jeff Cobb, Brian Cage, and Alex Hammerstone, all the way to boundary-pushers like EFFY and Allie Katch, we thank you.

Thank you for bringing your best.
Thank you for testing ours.
Thank you for making PROGRESS that little bit louder, wilder, and more unforgettable.

Happy 4th of July to all our American wrestlers past and present — and to the fans across the U.S. who have followed PROGRESS every step of the way.
