Chris Ridgeway Injured, Withdraws from PROGRESS Chapter 181
It is with deep regret that PROGRESS Wrestling officially confirms Chris Ridgeway will be unable to compete in his scheduled match against Man Like Dereiss at Chapter 181: Far From Ordinary People due to a serious neck injury. Ridgeway took to X to reveal he sustained a hairline fracture, along with a tear and a sprain, during a match last weekend. Despite seeking medical attention, the diagnosis requires extended rest and rehabilitation.
In his statement, Ridgeway expressed profound disappointment at missing what would have been a high-profile return, calling the news “devastating” but also emphasising gratitude for the ability to walk and move. He thanked fans and colleagues for their support as he starts the recovery process.
PROGRESS Wrestling send their heartfelt best wishes for a full and speedy recovery, telling Ridgeway: “We’re behind you 100%, Chris – get well soon and we can’t wait to welcome you back stronger than ever.”
In the meantime, Man Like DeReiss will still compete at Chapter 181, with PROGRESS set to announce his new opponent “very soon”. Fans can still look forward to a stacked night of action, including the PROGRESS World and Tag Team title matches, plus explosive card additions and Pick Your Poison bouts.
