Crowley the first name to enter Men’s SSS16 tournament!

Charles Crowley is relishing the opportunity to compete in next year’s history-making Super Strong Style 16 tournament.

The annual event will take place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May 2026 at Camden’s Electric Ballroom, with two tournaments set to run at the same time.

Both male and female stars will be competing, marking a new era for one of the most prestigious competitions in independent wrestling.

The tenth edition of Super Strong Style 16 will see the launch of the inaugural women’s SSS16, cementing PROGRESS’ commitment to showcasing world-class wrestling talent on every front.

First-round matches will be held in Europe and North America at the beginning of 2026.

Crowley, who has become the first competitor to sign-up to Super Strong Style 16, is excited for a “monstrously huge show” next year, and has ambitions to be in London in May 2026.

Crowley told progresswrestling.com: “The big thing about Super Strong Style 2026 is that there’s not just a Men’s Strong Style, which standalone will be the biggest Strong Style yet, but there is also a Women’s Strong Style.

“It doesn’t even double in magnitude compared to last year, because the Men’s Strong Style is going to be next level, you can’t fathom how different this one is going to be from past Strong Styles and on top of that you have the Women’s Strong Style, and the Women are at their absolute best.

“This is why it’s so popular now, it’s almost like CrossFit, there’s like a league, who’s the best wrestler in the world, and in the top five it lists the names of men and women. It’s just going to be such a monstrously huge show and an amazing showcase of talent.”

Having missed the 2025 tournament, Crowley has made up for lost time and is now fully focused and ready for the upcoming edition.

He added: “As for me, I couldn’t compete last year in the 2025 Strong Style and that broke my heart. It felt like such stop in momentum for me and then after that, I lost myself a bit, direction was confusing and so all I did was train more, train harder, improve my physique and every aspect of my game so I’m ready for next year.

“That’s why I’m the first entrant into next year’s Super Strong Style.”
