Chris Hero is a striking savant whose legacy echoes through the history of PROGRESS Wrestling. One of the most influential independent wrestlers of his generation, Hero brought unmatched precision, devastating elbows, and a global résumé to the Ballroom—leaving fans and foes stunned in his wake.
Hero’s PROGRESS journey began at Chapter 30 during the 2016 edition of Super Strong Style 16, where he toppled Mark Andrews in a gritty opening round bout. He returned that same night to defeat Big Daddy WALTER in the quarter finals before falling in a brutal slugfest to Tommy End in the semis. The next year, he returned under his WWE name, Kassius Ohno, delivering an iconic run in the 2018 tournament at Alexandra Palace.
Over the course of one day, Ohno defeated Chris Brookes, Zack Gibson, and six other challengers in a Wasteman Challenge—before finally succumbing to Zack Sabre Jr. in the final. It was a showing that reminded the world why Hero is often considered a wrestler’s wrestler.
He’s also gone to war with Marty Scurll for the PROGRESS World Title, and collided with fellow technician Timothy Thatcher in a barnburner at Chapter 99.
Whether under the name Chris Hero or Kassius Ohno, the message remains the same: he hits hard and leaves a mark.
Pure skill. Pure danger.
And if you see the elbow cocked, it’s already too late.
