Ricochet

The Journey

Ricochet is a high-flying phenom whose jaw-dropping agility and otherworldly athleticism earned him global acclaim long before he became a household name in WWE. Known for redefining what’s possible inside the ropes, Ricochet brought his unique blend of innovation and intensity to PROGRESS Wrestling in the promotion’s early years—adding instant prestige to its growing reputation.

Ricochet’s PROGRESS debut came at Chapter Six: We Heart Violence (31 March 2013), where he headlined The Garage in a PROGRESS World Title clash against El Ligero. Two chapters later, he returned for a lightning-fast three-way showdown with Zack Sabre Jr. and Mark Haskins at Chapter Nine—two matches that helped solidify PROGRESS as a hotbed for international dream bouts.

Beyond PROGRESS, Ricochet’s journey has spanned the globe. As Prince Puma, he was the inaugural Lucha Underground Champion, captivating audiences with cinematic storytelling and death-defying offence. In New Japan Pro Wrestling, he captured the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Titles and won the prestigious Best of the Super Juniors tournament in 2014, defeating KUSHIDA in a landmark final.

His time in Dragon Gate, PWG, and EVOLVE saw him collect accolades and five-star classics, while his high-octane matches across the US indie scene became viral sensations—particularly his showdown with Will Ospreay in 2016, which sparked global discussion about the evolution of wrestling’s style.

In WWE, Ricochet has held the United States Championship, Intercontinental Championship, and became the first-ever Speed Champion, continuing to amaze fans on a weekly basis with his signature Shooting Star Presses, Recoils, and crowd-defying dives.

He joined AEW and continues to inspire in the ring and antagonise out of it!

Though his run in PROGRESS was brief, Ricochet’s appearances helped elevate the promotion during its formative years, offering fans a glimpse of global excellence and setting a standard that future imports would aim to match.

He came. He soared. He stunned.

Ricochet made his PROGRESS Wrestling debut at Chapter Six: We Heart Violence (31 March 2013), stepping into The Garage for a high-stakes main event against then-champion El Ligero in a clash that showcased Ricochet’s world-class athleticism and fearless aerial style.

Notable matches in Ricochet’s PROGRESS history include:

  • PROGRESS Title Match – El Ligero (c) vs Ricochet (Chapter 6)

  • Three-Way – Zack Sabre Jr. vs Ricochet vs Mark Haskins (Chapter 9)

During his short but impactful stint in PROGRESS, Ricochet thrilled early Ballroom-era fans with his boundary-pushing offence and elite international pedigree. His match against El Ligero marked one of the earliest international title defences in PROGRESS history, while his return at Chapter 9 saw him share the ring with two of the UK’s finest technicians in a fast-paced, genre-defining triple threat.

Though Ricochet never claimed gold in PROGRESS, his appearances helped set the tone for what the company would become—a launchpad for dream matches and world-class talent.

A fleeting chapter, but one that helped shape the story of modern British wrestling.
