Gene Munny wins PROGRESS ATLAS Championship at 100 Volts

Gene Munny realised a career milestone at Chapter 183: 100 Volts, winning the PROGRESS ATLAS Championship for the first time in his storied run with the company.

The match itself was every bit hard-hitting that you expect from the ATLAS division. Outgoing champion Mike D Vecchio, already rumoured for pastures new, thrilled the crowd with fearless dives, while Will Kroos imposed his power with buckle bombs, piledrivers and even a massive Spanish Fly on the champion.

Martina’s interference appeared to prove costly when Munny accidentally floored her with a clothesline, opening the door for Kroos to seize the advantage. The “#1 Nephew” appeared to have the title won after a crushing piledriver on Vecchio, but Munny played his hand at the perfect moment, shoving Kroos aside and taking the pin on the Belgian.

Post-match, Kroos demanded a one-on-one encounter with Munny to settle their bitter “Broken Family” feud, which will take place at our next chapter show, Camden Lock Up on September 28th, while also paying respect to D Vecchio, who received an emotional ovation in what is expected to be his PROGRESS farewell.

For Munny, the victory cements his place in PROGRESS history. Once the perennial underdog and comic relief, his transformation into a ruthless hound dog has now been rewarded with championship gold.

The ATLAS division has long been home to some of PROGRESS Wrestling’s hardest-hitting encounters, from WALTER’s reign of dominance to Luke Jacobs’ rise as a top star. By claiming the belt, Munny joins an elite list of names to hold the title, proving he can stand among the promotion’s heavyweights.

With Kroos already circling, the rivalry that has defined the “Broken Family” looks set to intensify. For the Ballroom faithful, Munny’s birthday party was an unwelcome one, but for the new champion, the party has just begun.
