Chapter 185: Jump In The Line

As we bid farewell to spooky season and welcome in the festivities of Christmas, it’s time to reflect on Chapter 185: Jump In The Line. With 7 matches on the card, 4 of which being title matches, this show turned out to be an absolute showstopper and arguably one of the best Progress shows to date. Here is a breakdown of all the action and story that went down at today’s highly anticipated show.

There’s new competition in Progress

Jump In The Line kicked off with an entertaining match which showcased what Progress Wrestling is all about, with everyone’s favourite duo Lallie, dressed as minions, going up against the debuting Hyperactive. This duo have been taking British Wrestling by storm and are now looking to make a clear mark in the Progress Wrestling ring. This match proved to be a great way to get fans fired up for a fantastic show, with both comedy and outstanding wrestling happening throughout this match.

The Munny family revelation

The next match saw Gene Munny take on NOAH prospect Owadasan, with Gene Munny picking up the win. The ending of this match was the true climax with Gene disobeying Session Moth’s orders and taking him in as family, leaving fans wondering what’s next for Mothdog and the sudden alliance with Owadasan.

A statement is made

Match three of the night saw the debuting Mulligan, accompanied by Josh Holly, take on fan favourite Simon Miller, who has ongoing history with Holly. This fast paced, all out match saw Miller gain quick advantages on Mulligan due to Holly’s behaviour at ringside. Thanks to these distractions, Miller was quick to pick up the win, leaving Josh Holly wanting more. An Infuriated Mulligan turned against him, asserting his dominance within the Progress men’s division. This will not be the end of this captivating feud, so fans best be excited for what is to come next.

Leverkusen dethrones Rhio

Progress was prepared to make it rain as the fourth match on this card showcased the best of women’s wrestling: Rayne Leverkusen vs Rhio, a true gamechanger on today’s card. From the start, fans were quickly captivated by this hard-hitting match, quickly getting behind their favourites from the start. Tensions between the two were at its climax thanks to months of feuding and this match truly felt like the final dance between these two individuals in Progress, with Leverkusen ultimately picking up the win by roll up. It was clear to see what this victory meant to the Progress audience as everyone came together in celebration of their new women’s champion. This seems to be a passing of the torch moment from Rhio as we step into the era of Rayne Leverkusen.

Will Kroos – A star in the making

Will Kroos defeated The Spectacular Twat, Charles Crowley in a physical clash of the ages and retained his Atlas Championship. Kroos’ victory over Crowley established him as a powerful force to be reckoned with in Progress’ men’s division. With Crowley walking away devastated by yet another loss, we look to wonder what is next for the Spectacular Twat.

Charlie Sterling – What’s next?

The show was then interrupted by Charlie Sterling who looked to have a few words to say before eventually picking a fight with one of the Progress red shirts. Heroically, Simon Miller came out and shut Sterling up by issuing a challenge at Vendetta next month, leaving Sterling distraught as he walked back to the locker room. Fans will be sure to not miss out on this match.

Lio Rush falls up short to the Lyrical Dragon in his Progress return

A heated feud saw the Lyrical Dragon take on AEW star Lio Rush or in this case, his eerie alter-ego: The Blackheart. The match was pure chaos, showcasing the best of both wrestlers abilities, spilling in and outside of the ring, with Dereiss ultimately getting the victory. Just when we all thought it was over, a blood and feather covered Progress title was unveiled, leaving both the crowd and Dereiss confused. There’s only one question on everyone’s mind: Who ruined Dereiss’ belt?

The Main Event – Tag team turmoil saw new rulers of the tag division

Champions Lykos Gym took the fight to both Diamond Eyes and Sunshine Machine in a death-defying three-way ladder match in culmination of months of despair between these three teams. Intensity proved to be a crucial factor as Diamond Eyes won the gold in brutal fashion. The aftermath saw a dismantling Lykos Gym as Lykos II looked to be let down by his tag team partner. Questions arise as to what’s next for Lykos Gym and the rest of the Progress tag team division.

My Final Thoughts

Jump In The Line in my opinion delivered everything and more, showcasing captivating wrestling, emotive storytelling and performances like no other. The show really helped build together the future of Progress, leaving many fans imploring for more. There really is no better time to be a Progress Wrestling fan than now.
