Over £1000 Raised In The Hair Vs. Mask Match – Chuck Mambo On The Aftermath

Chuck Mambo tasted defeat in a Hair vs Mask match against Kid Lykos at Chapter 146: They Think It’s All Over after tapping out.

Mambo, who is one half of Tag-Team Champions, Sunshine Machine, took on Lykos in an enthralling clash at the Electric Ballroom.

Despite losing, Chuck supported a fundraising effort for the Down’s Syndrome Association and MacMillan, as he had his hair shaved off in the ring, Mambo and Lykos combined efforts raised well over £1000 by the end of their match for the two charities.

Mambo said: “It didn’t go to plan. I was hoping to have unmasked the person under the mask, but we are where we are. I was mortified as my hair is a big part of my aesthetic and brand, but it was cathartic and meaningful. It would be nicer to have my hair but for people to share the moment, it was really powerful.

“Although I hate that I lost and especially hate that I tapped out, I am happy and proud that we did a lot of good and raised money for the Down’s Syndrome Association and MacMillan, and there was a standing ovation, and it was a powerful day.

“As much as I don’t like him, he showed some decency after he won, he told me he was wrong, not that I need his validation. He did get a pin over one half of Sunshine Machine who are one half of the Tag Team Champions, so there’s definitely an argument to say that they deserve it.”
