For all the glamour and noise of WrestleMania week, PROGRESS Chapter 193: PROGRESS Las Vegas II at The Horseshoe, Las Vegas on Thursday 16 April 2026 will go down in the history books.
Golden Globe and Emmy‑winning actor Paul Walter Hauser proved he was just no guest star as he successfully defended his PROGRESS Proteus Championship with $100,000 also on the line against former WWE superstar, Big Damo.
In front of a vibrant Sin City crowd, Hauser overcame a high stakes collision with the Beast of Belfast, as the Hollywood star put both his money and title on the line.
Hauser got the crowd all wound up after his comments, calling the PROGRESS fans ‘wishy washy’ in an exclusive interview with talkSPORT earlier this week.
For Big Damo, the motivation was simple. If he won, he would become the first ever PROGRESS Wrestling grands Pam champion.
Walter Hauser’s tactics meant he would remain the champion, however, the night didn’t end as he would imagined, as on his way back to the ring entrance, he was met by former Proteus champion, Simon Miller.
The pair decided to take the money, but little did they know, they opened the briefcase with no money in there whatsoever.
The first match of the night was Subculture versus Beautiful Hype which was fast paced which could have gone either way, but Subculture picked up the victory to kick start Chapter 193.
Miller, who we have already referenced for his involvement in the Walter Hauser versus Damo battle, went face to face with Danny Jones.
The match was ideal preparation for Miller ahead of Super Strong Style 16, facing Jones, who is a multi-time tag champion.
However, Miller wasn’t alone and he was joined in Las Vegas by the rest of his What Culture team, as he picked up the win as the excitement grows for next month’s tournament. Can Simon win Super Strong Style 16? We only have a few weeks to find out.
A five-way match took the spotlight in the women’s division as Emersyn Jayne, Lena Kross, Mercedes Martinez, Renee Michelle, and Shotzi Blackheart left it all in the ring.
There were some incredible moments within the match, but ultimately it was Emersyn Jayne picked up the win by pinning former WWE and AEW star Mercedes Martinez.
At the end of the match, Emersyn and Shotzi stared each other down with both now firmly focused on becoming the inaugural women’s Super Strong Style 16 winner.
Blackheart Lio Rush faced one half of the PROGRESS Wrestling tag team champion, Ethan Allen.
Nobody can explain or understand the craziness and creepy nature of the Blackheart, and his antics certainly put Allen off his game.
After a back and forth first round Super Strong Style 16 qualifier, it was Rush who advanced to the finals.
Back to the women’s division, and former PROGRESS Women’s champion Rhio faced Vertvixon for a match that has been in the making for more than a year.
The story between the two started when Vertvixon was the DEFY Wrestling Champion and Rhio held the PROGRESS gold.
In an incredible bout showcasing the very best of what women’s wrestling has to offer, it was Rhio who advanced to the next round of Super Strong Style 16 to conclude the tournament qualifying matches in Las Vegas.
The PROGRESS Men’s World Championship was defended as Man Like Dereiss, accompanied by Brodie Lee Jr., the son of Brodie Lee and Amanda Huber, faced Michael Oku, with Amira at his side.
Brodie Lee JR joined Dereiss wearing the exact same shades, and become an honorary member of the 0121.
About the match itself, Lee spilt water into Amira and Oku got involved. The match was back and forth, with Dereiss retaining the title and celebrating with Lee to finish the show.
So Cal Val was the host for the show in Vegas, and D’Lo Brown and Joe Dombrowski on the commentary.
Attention now turns to Super Strong Style 16 next month, taking place at the Electric Ballroom in Camden on Sunday 3rd May and Monday 4th May. Tickets can be purchased now by CLICKING HERE.
