At CHAPTER 171 on Sunday, 22nd September, Robbo will defend his Proteus Title against the man who is looking to find his place in PROGRESS, Connor Mills. After knocking out Malik in an intense and violent defence last time out… we sat down with Robbo to discuss his upcoming match this Sunday.
Congratulations on your victory over Malik in one of the most barbaric matches we’ve seen. How do you feel after such a brutal feud, and do you think it’s changed you as a competitor?
I did what I said I would do, I reminded everyone at PROGRESS why I am where I am. It’s time to look forward
With your match against Connor Mills set for Chapter 171, what are your thoughts on facing an opponent known for his resilience and true grit?
I get it, he’s bigger than me, stronger than me and PROGRESS fans see him as a tough guy but when I look at Mills I still see that timid, softly spoken long haired wet wipe trainee red shirt.
The Proteus Title stipulation for this match is tap out or knock out. How does that play into your strategy, and do you feel more comfortable in this type of stipulation?
Seriously? Is someone getting paid to ask such a complex question. No sh*t I feel comfortable with the stipulation I set.
You defeated Connor Mills at Chapter 90 five years ago. Do you think the Connor Mills of 2024 is ready for the brutality of a Proteus Title match against you?
Did I? Mills is an animal, in all seriousness he will be one of if not the toughest challenge I’ve had to date, he’s fast becoming a knock out artist but nothing can’t prepare him for what I bring to the table. There’s a whole new level to this that I get to show him.
You’ve made a name for yourself with hardcore, violent matches. Do you feel the Proteus Title, with its unique stipulations, is the perfect platform for you to showcase your strengths?
100% while Mills is in there to compete I go to the ring for a fight, not because I need to but because I want to, this is fun for me.
What are your final words ahead of Sunday?
Mills is going to wish he was back on ring crew come Sunday. Oh, Can we do by voice note next time, this much typing is boring. Long may the reign continue
