A familiar face to so many in the wrestling world is returning to PROGRESS Wrestling on Friday night as guest host of Chapter 191: For The Love Of PROGRESS 4.
Yes, you guessed it, we are delighted to welcome back SoCal Val for the next installment of PROGRESS Wrestling at the Bowlers – BEC Arena on Friday 20th February.
This week’s show in Manchester will be SoCal Val’s first appearance at PROGRESS Wrestling since she was the commentator at Super Strong Style 16 in 2024.
SoCal Val and all those in attendance will be in for a treat with several exciting matches taking place in the North West, including an unmissable Super Strong Style 16 first-round showdown between ex-WWE star Shotzi Blackheart and former PROGRESS Women’s World Champion, Lana Austin, a match which CalVal is very excited for.
Val told progresswrestling.com: “I’m so very excited! We have some of the best talent in not only the UK, but in the world, many I’ve made friends with even outside of the business. I’m thrilled to see them again and resume the camaraderie!
“One thing PROGRESS delivers on, every single show, is in ring action. If I had to pick a match I’m specifically looking forward to having a ringside seat for is Shotzi vs Lana Austin!
“That reminds me, I hope I packed ear plugs for Manchester. I’ve heard “Lana-oke” is making a comeback. Despite the groans and moans of PROGRESS fans! Bless her, it can’t be easy being THAT tone-deaf.”
Elsewhere, Men’s World Champion, Man Like Dereiss will look to bounce back from being pinned during a tag team match at Chapter 190 when he teams with Simon Miller and Charles Crowley to face Saxon Huxley, Jack Morris and Bullit.
Axel Tischer and Big Damo reunite as Sanity go head-to-head against Manchester duo, The Young Guns (Ethan Allen and Luke Jacobs) in a number one contenders’ tag‑team match.
The winners will face reigning tag champs Diamond Eyes at an upcoming chapter whilst Kouga and Sam Bailey battle each other in a singles match, and Melissa Fierce defends her Pro Wrestling Cyprus Ladies title championship against Session Moth Martina.
Manchester is the place to be for wrestling fans, with For The Love of Wrestling also taking place at the same venue ahead of Chapter 191. The fan‑fest will give fans the chance to meet several wrestling legends, including Saraya, Dustin Rhodes, Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, Swerve Strickland, Jerry Lawler and many more. CalVal has promised fans “high octane” action in the ring, and she is pleased to see PROGRESS continue to empower female wrestling at an elite-level through a women’s tournament at Super Strong Style.
She continued: “Expect to see high octane action with a diverse cast of colourful characters. That’s what makes the shows unmissable. There’s something for everyone.
“Kudos to PROGRESS for putting the spotlight on women’s wrestling, where it deserves to be! I’m always in awe of how hard these ladies work not only in the ring and on the microphone but on social media promoting their work as well. They take a lot of time for their fans, which is beyond important.”
PROGRESS heads back to Las Vegas in April ahead of WrestleMania 42 week at The Collective, and CalVal is looking forward to seeing PROGRESS back in her homeland in the United States.
“It’s tremendous! For me it’s validating to see US fans enjoying the best of the UK. We are spoiled here getting to see PROGRESS up close and personal.
“Every time we come to America we leave with a plethora of new, hungry fans who want to see more! Vegas better be ready! With all due respect to red or black? ALWAYS bet on PROGRESS Wrestling,” Val added.
