In an exclusive interview, we sat down with Charles Crowley to discuss the recent developments in his wrestling career, particularly focusing on the impact of Alexxis Falcon‘s injury. Charles opened up about his initial reaction to the news, the challenges he faces moving forward outside the realm of the Cheeky Little Buggers, and his determination to become a champion.
As Charles Crowley prepares for an upcoming match at PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 169 with a yet-to-be-revealed mystery partner, he shared his thoughts on his opponents, BUSSY, and the journey ahead without his usual tag team partner by his side.
Charles Crowley, first off, how is Alexxis Falcon doing following her recent injury? What was your initial reaction when you heard the news, and how has it impacted your plans moving forward?
I mean, only she can say how she’s truly doing but I think she’s ok now she knows the injury and is on the road to recovery. I was gutted for her because since we lost the tag belts we’ve just been in a rut, that hit us real hard and we came back with so much fire just for it to be extinguished by this. That being said, Alexxis Falcon wouldn’t want to hold me back, so I guess I move forwards, but I’ll need to re-find myself first. One thing is for sure, I’m here to be a champion, it’s just which championship I strive for.
With Alexxis Falcon out of action, you have a mystery partner for your upcoming match at PROGRESS Wrestling 169 against BUSSY. Can you give us any hints or insights about who might be stepping into the ring with you?
Literally I have no idea who it is but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m not interested in tagging with anyone else. Alexxis Falcon is my tag partner so whoever it is, I’d rather they just say out and left me to it solo.
BUSSY is known for their unique style and charisma in the ring. What are your thoughts on facing them at PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 169?
You recently lost the PROGRESS tag titles, which was a significant moment for you and Alexxis. You still haven’t found the right time to really talk about the events of Chapter 166 do you feel ready to now?
No I’m not going to talk about our tag loss properly until Alexxis Falcon is back.
The Cheeky Little Buggers brought a different energy to Chapter 167 and it coincided with a dominant win. How did that feel?
How did it feel to win when we came back from the US? It felt right and it wasn’t surprising. We’ve always known how good we are, no one in PROGRESS has chemistry like we do. So it was a statement and it remains a statement for the future of the Cheeky Little Buggers.
With Alexxis Falcon out of action, what are your goals in the immediate future? How do you plan to adapt and continue to make an impact in PROGRESS Wrestling without your usual partner by your side?
I’ve touched on this already but what I will say, is I’m here to be a champion. Falcon wouldn’t want me to wait for her and she knows I can’t. I’m the best I’ve ever been, I travel the world, recently trained by Tajiri and I’m going back to Japan next year, I get better and better and everyone can see it. Just watch my next steps, let’s see where they land me.
Your fans have always been a strong support system for you. How important is their support now more than ever, and what message do you have for them as you head into this next chapter?
My fans have been amazing and to be honest, they stayed supporting me when I had lost myself. I had stopped my tricks and games, a huge part of who I am whether they’re practical tricks or mind games it doesn’t matter. In Japan, Tajiri helped me hone how I utilise them with my wrestling and I come back with an even more unique offence. The fans will see this and I hope they’ll be proud because I want to reward them for supporting their Trickster God. Trust me my Twatlings, you will see me win solo gold. Trust me.
