TLC Match Announced for 100 Volts: Luke Jacobs to Defend PROGRESS World Title Against Man Like Dereiss

The stakes for Chapter 183: 100 Volts just got a lot higher.

At Chapter 182: Stay Humble, the Electric Ballroom witnessed an explosive confrontation between PROGRESS World Champion Luke Jacobs and long-time challenger Man Like Dereiss, culminating in the announcement of a TLC match for the World Championship on 25 August.

Jacobs entered the ring alongside Ethan Allen, boasting of his dominance in PROGRESS and listing off a string of vanquished opponents—among them Cara Noir, Timothy Thatcher, and Man Like Dereiss himself. As Jacobs dismissed Dereiss’s chances, claiming he had “beaten him twice,” MLD’s music hit and the challenger marched to the ring.

Dereiss wasted no time, calling Jacobs out and officially declaring his intention to cash in his title opportunity at Chapter 183. The champion responded with scorn, accusing Dereiss of being a five-time failure and branding him a “cheap pop journeyman,” which provoked a loud reaction from the Camden crowd.

In a fiery rebuttal, Dereiss said he has to work “six or seven times harder than everyone else,” highlighting his rise through the UK and US scenes and referring to his viral moment with Viva Van in GCW. “New champ!” chants echoed throughout the venue.

Then came the twist.

Though Jacobs had earlier told Allen to leave the ring, tensions were clearly brewing. As Dereiss turned to leave, Ethan Allen snuck back in and ambushed him from behind. A full assault followed, with the champion and his ally battering the challenger. Despite Dereiss fighting back valiantly, Jacobs ended the assault with a devastating low blow uppercut, leaving MLD broken in the centre of the ring.

TLC Match Confirmed

Before leaving, Jacobs declared that the 25 August title match would be contested under Tables, Ladders and Chairs (TLC) rules—a stipulation that promises high risk and brutal intensity. With no one allowed at ringside, the match will test both men physically and mentally.

What’s at Stake

  • Luke Jacobs: The reigning PROGRESS World Champion continues to cement his legacy with dominant title defences. But his alliance with Ethan Allen may be showing cracks.

  • Man Like Dereiss: A relentless challenger who’s never backed down, now preparing for his sixth PROGRESS title shot. This time, with a TLC stipulation and a fired-up fanbase behind him.

Chapter 183: 100 Volts is now set to be one of PROGRESS Wrestling’s most anticipated events of the year.

Will Jacobs continue his reign of dominance, or will Dereiss finally claim the championship that has eluded him?

The answer arrives 25 August.
