Man Like Dereiss Wins PROGRESS Men’s World Championship
The Electric Ballroom witnessed history at Chapter 183: 100 Volts, as Man Like Dereiss finally captured the PROGRESS Men’s World Championship, defeating Luke Jacobs in a brutal TLC match that pushed both men to their absolute limits.
Dereiss made a spectacular entrance with live music before going to war with Jacobs in one of the most physical title matches in PROGRESS history. Both men used tables, ladders and chairs throughout, with Jacobs drawing blood and even snapping Dereiss’ fingers in a bid to retain.
The match reached new levels of brutality when Jacobs exposed the wooden beams of the ring and poured thumbtacks across the surface. Dereiss responded with a superkick, piledriver and a stunning 450 leg drop through a table before climbing the ladder to claim the championship after 35 minutes of action.
Celebrations inside the Ballroom turned from happiness to chaos when former champion Cara Noir returned, ambushing Dereiss on the stage and leaving him laid out.
Dereiss’ win marks the first PROGRESS Men’s World Championship of his career, closing the chapter on Jacobs’ reign of over a year and immediately opening a new rivalry with Cara Noir.
