Super Strong Style 16 is just days away, and with the match card confirmed, excitement is growing for an unmissable tournament of shocks and surprises at the Electric Ballroom across the May Bank Holiday Weekend!

The history-making competition will see men’s and women’s champions crowned in the capital to conclude a blockbuster tournament which has spanned the United Kingdom, Europe and North America, showcasing its truly international reach, delivered by PROGRESS Wrestling.

This year’s Super Strong Style 16 is the 10thedition of the men’s edition whilst a first-ever women’s champion will be decided.

In the men’s tournament, Charles Crowley, Charlie Sterling, Simon Miller, Spike Trivet, Lio Rush, Jay Joshua, Peter Tihanyi and Elijah Blum are all in contention to lift the Super Strong Style 16 trophy.

Meanwhile, in the world-first women’s competition, Skye Smithson, Gisele Shaw, Rhio, Stephanie Maze, LA Taylor, Shotzi Blackheart, Emersyn Jayne and Kanji will fight it out for the title.

Along with being able to watch all of the Super Strong Style 16 action unfold, fans will be treated to seeing two titans of the PROGRESS Wrestling ring when current champion Man Like Dereiss and former champion Cara Noir, battle it out for the Men’s World Championship title, in what promises to be a fascinating showdown in a No Disqualification Match on Day One, which is a rematch of Dereiss’ victory at Chapter 189: In Darkest Night.

Speaking ahead of SSS16, Simon Miller said: “So far at least I have a pattern. 2024, out with injury. 2025, out the first round after being dropped on my head. 2026, through the first round and into the later rounds. Ironically, I believe that’s called progress. That’s my main goal this time around as well. Just do more than I did 12 months ago and make sure you do more still in 2027. I’m taking it very seriously, though. I’m not entirely sure what I would do if I don’t have a good tournament. Be sad. Then what?

“There’s more than one way to win Strong Style. I’ll throw a potato at someone if that works. No more mucking around.”

Shotzi Blackheart, who is aiming to become the inaugural women’s champion, added: “It would be emotional, no doubt but not soft. It would feel like relief, rage, pride, and proof all wrapped into one. Being first means you don’t get to hide behind history, you become it. And I’d love knowing every woman after me has to chase something I built. Which comes with a lot of respect, and I feel like every wrestler thrives to be respected.

“Being champion in PROGRESS means everything. This isn’t just any title, this is a company with history, credibility, and real respect behind it. I don’t just want to have great matches here, I want to lead. I want to represent PROGRESS at the highest level, and you can only truly do that when you’re the champion.”

In the evening of Sunday 3rd May, after day one of SSS16, which starts at 2pm, PROGRESS Wrestling will be hosting FIST Club, a queer cabaret and pro wrestling night that combines elements of wrestling, drag, comedy and cabaret into a fast-paced, energetic and boundary-pushing spectacle.

Tickets for Sunday’s FIST Club will be available as a package deal through DICE.

FIST Club will start at 7.30pm as drag personas, burlesque, comedy and real, physical wrestling will come together to create an over-18s-only celebration of queer performance.

The weekend will conclude on Monday, 4th May, with an in-ring seminar hosted by Shotzi from 11:00am to 12:30pm followed by a meet and greet with Shotzi at 1pm, before day two of SSS16 starts at 3pm.

This is the show you cannot afford to miss – the first women’s SSS16 finals, the packed men’s SSS16 tournament, Shotzi Blackheart in the spotlight, and FIST Club taking over the Electric Ballroom.

There is a wide range of ticket options available to suit all, with cost savings available to those who attend more than one show. Ticket prices start at just £17.22.
