Well, could the dream matchup between The Sovereign Lord, our reigning PROGRESS World Champion, and Adam Cole, soon become reality, Bay Bay?

The pair had a heated exchange at the For The Love of Wrestling event in Manchester last month, after some very tasty words from current AEW star Adam Cole.

During an interview at Europe’s largest dedicated wrestling convention, For The Love of Wrestling. the longest reigning NXT Champion made a bold statement in the ring with So Cal Val, “Spike Trivet will not be holding the belt for much longer…”

Cole’s comments quickly spread and within seconds, fans were speculating the former PROGRESS star was teeing up a return to PROGRESS Wrestling. One fan posted “Adam Cole returning to PROGRESS in 2023. This is like a dream come true.” whilst another said “Adam Cole in PROGRESS is going to be SIIICCKKK”

Not only did Cole, who is dating fellow AEW star Britt Baker, speculate his interest in the PROGRESS World Championship, he admitted he would love to come back to PROGRESS Wrestling full stop even posing for a picture with the retired PROGRESS World Championship title.

However, Cole’s words did not go unheard by the Vulture, and he swooped in soon after to find Cole in Manchester, going face to face with the AEW superstar.
