The wrestling stars are aligned as PROGRESS Wrestling is delighted to announce the first person to be involved in our double header with DEFY none other than Davey Boy Smith Jr. 

The former WWE and MLW superstar is returning to London for what is going to be an incredible weekend in and around AEW’s All In pay per view event at Wembley Stadium.  

Davey Boy Smith Jr will be competing for PROGRESS Wrestling and will be in the ring in London, 31 years after his father, the British Bulldog, headlined WWE SummerSlam at Wembley against Bret Hart for the Intercontinental Championship. 

PROGRESS Wrestling co-owner, Lee McAteer, said: “I am sure this is an emotional journey for Davey Boy Smith Jr, especially considering it will be almost 31 years to the day that his father headlined SummerSlam with Bret the Hitman Hart at Wembley Stadium. 

“It is a real privilege to have Davey Boy Smith Jr with us. He has huge ambition and wants to have a special moment of his own in London with PROGRESS. We welcome him to the PROGRESS Wrestling family, but Davey’s upcoming journey with us will truly put the entire locker room on notice because he is not here to simply make up the numbers. His eyes are firmly on championship gold”
