As the excitement in the wrestling world reaches a fever pitch this weekend, all eyes turn to PROGRESS Chapter 154: “It’s Clobberin’ Time,” where Lana Austin defends her Women’s PROGRESS Championship against one of her biggest rivals, Raven Creed.
A Storied Past
Raven Creed is a force to be reckoned with and brings an aura of darkness and mystique to the squared circle. Her unique blend of technical prowess and unbridled aggression has propelled her to the upper echelons of the PROGRESS wrestling women’s division but she has yet to defeat our successful, but tone deaf champion Lana Austin in singles competition.
She finally overcame the Lana Austin Experience in tag team action when her and Dani Luna beat them at Chapter 149, only for Creed to lose in singles competition again the following chapter to Skye Smitson.
With her confidence wavering & the ghosts of past defeats spinning in her head, Raven Creed blamed her friend Dani Luna for installing false assurance in her which resulted in the pair having a match at chapter 152 which Creed won. Following the match and the confidence built through singles victory, Dani Luna had taught Raven Creed that she was worthy & had nothing to fear with The Lana Austin Experience.
Strength In Numbers
On the other side of the ring stands Lana Austin, a champion who has surrounded herself with impressive backup in LA Taylor and Skye Smitson. They have protected her from Raven Creed in the past, and they are more than willing to do so again this weekend.
Lana Austin has successfully defended her championship four times but none have come with the personal animosity towards her that Raven Creed exhibits. Writing on her social media, Raven has stated “If you thought I was crazy normally, imagine what I’ll be like with the Progress Women’s Championship in front of me.” Has Lana Austin created a problem for herself with her actions heading into this bout?
In the past the Lana Austin Experience have embarrassed Raven Creed, at one point even strapping Creed around the ring post in her own straightjacket. That led to a straightjacket match at Chapter 139 under No DQ Rules, which Lana Austin used to her advantage and corrupted Skye Smitson to attack Creed during the match, before putting her in the straightjacket again.
This time, at Chapter 154, Raven Creed will be wrestling Lana Austin for the Women’s PROGRESS Championship and with all of her past ghosts extinguished, the shackles are off and we could see a new champion crowned.
