Chuck Mambo

The Journey

Chuck Mambo, known for his charismatic and high-energy performances, has become a key figure in PROGRESS Wrestling. His journey with PROGRESS began in 2013, where he quickly made a name for himself through his distinctive blend of athleticism and humour. Mambo’s early career saw him as a fan favourite, often showcasing his light-hearted persona and engaging the audience with his fun-loving antics.

However, his match against Zack Sabre Jr. at Super Strong Style 16 in 2018 marked a turning point, demonstrating his serious wrestling skills and proving he could compete with the best.

That summer, Mambo won the 2018 PROGRESS World Cup winning three matches in one night for England.

In late 2018, Chuck Mambo underwent a significant character transformation by turning heel and joining the faction Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) alongside Spike Trivet, Pastor William Eaver, and Drew Parker.

This heel turn allowed Mambo to explore a darker side of his character, adding depth to his in-ring persona and showcasing his versatility as a performer. The group’s mission was to disrupt the status quo in PROGRESS, and Mambo’s involvement added a new dimension to his career, allowing him to engage in more intense and serious storylines.

Mambo’s partnership with TK Cooper as part of the tag team Sunshine Machine has been particularly successful. The duo’s chemistry and innovative tag team moves quickly made them a hit with fans, leading to them capturing the PROGRESS Tag Team Championships.

Their reign was highlighted by numerous thrilling defences, including a record-setting performance at Unboxing V: Deal or No Deal, where they defeated FSU to achieve the most title defences in PROGRESS history.

One of Mambo’s most notable rivalries in recent times has been with Lykos Gym, culminating in a Hair vs. Mask match against Kid Lykos at Chapter 146: They Think It’s All Over.

Despite losing the match and having his hair cut, Mambo used the opportunity to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, demonstrating his commitment to using his platform for positive causes. This storyline not only added emotional depth to Mambo’s character but also highlighted his dedication to charity and community engagement.

Looking ahead, Mambo continues to work in the tag team division with Sunshine Machine. He remains committed to elevating British wrestling and engaging with fans through his dynamic in-ring performances and charismatic personality.

Whether competing in high-stakes matches or participating in entertaining storylines, Chuck Mambo’s contributions to PROGRESS Wrestling and the broader wrestling community are significant and ongoing.
