In her long-awaited return to the PROGRESS Wrestling ring, Lizzy Evo reflects on her time away, describing it as a period of observation and preparation rather than frustration. After a four-month hiatus, Evo is eager to continue her upward trajectory following an impressive run, where she tested herself against some of the best talent in the women’s division.
Now, with her return at Chapter 171 against Allie Katch, Lizzy is ready for an all-out fight, using every lesson learned from her past matches to fuel her growth. As she re-enters the fold, Lizzy makes one thing clear: she’s back, and she’s more ruthless than ever.
It’s been four months since we saw you in PROGRESS. Have you been stewing over the loss to Rhio in the SSS16 ladder match?
I wouldn’t say stewing but more a case of observing, and biding my time. Perception is a big thing here and 4 months has been the perfect amount of time in my opinion for me to prepare for my return back.
Before that loss, you had only lost one of your previous five in PROGRESS. How do you look back on that run of matches?
Leading up to the ladder match was a great run, and a great test for me both physically and mentally. I was wrestling some of the best women wrestlers on the scene right now, and was able to hold wins over them in a progress ring so I’m very happy with the last run. It has only made me hungrier to evolve more.res
During your last match, you seemed to be getting a surprising amount of crowd support in the Ballroom. Is that something you care about?
What can I say! It’s no surprise, the progress fans tend to respect the wrestlers who they see have worked hard, but don’t get me wrong, I’m not in need of it and don’t really care for it.
Moving on to Chapter 171 you are facing Allie Katch, what are your thoughts on her?
me and Allie have wrestled before, so we are both familiar to what eachother can do. I’m looking forward to having an all out scrap at the ballroom to be honest. Fight?? Sign me up.
You previously wrestled in TNT, where you won your singles match. What did you learn from that encounter?
Each match I look at, as an opportunity to grow, mentally and physically. See what’s good for me what’s not and I think my main lesson has been to appreciate where I am at and take it in, as best I can. I can feel the growth in many areas very mindfully which I’m able to apply in the ring which is creatively the best I have been, especially performing.
Lastly, do you have a final word for the women’s division now you are back in the fold?
The women’s division at progress don’t need a reminder because I know they see what I do, and once they see I’m back, that is THE message. So my only ask of them, is if you thought I was a bitch before, just know I’m coming back a lot more ruthless.
