One of the hottest young prospects in the world of professional wrestling, Nick Wayne, will be knocking down the PROGRESS Wrestling door once again on Sunday 26th February.
Wayne is the youngest pro wrestler to sign with AEW, when he was offered a contract by Darby Allin just over one year ago, and now he will finally go face to face with another young upcoming star, CPF’s Callum Newman, at Chapter 150: When The Man Comes Around.
The teenager’s impact has been worldwide, and he has already shown to the PROGRESS fans what he can produce inside the squared circle. Wayne made not only his PROGRESS debut, but his European bow at Chapter 136 in 2022, when he faced Robbie X in a true classic of a match.

The excitement has been building for months after PROGRESS management confirmed at the end of 2022 that Wayne vs Newman would be taking place at the third show of the calendar year.
Newman will now have to change hats from tag team to single actions, and he comes into the match with Wayne after a thrilling four man tag team match with CPF against 0121 at Chapter 149 in Manchester.
Reflecting on his match at Chapter 149, he said: “Usually I’d be quite upset with a loss, but with CPF, we are proving that we are four of the best junior heavyweights in the UK.
“We’ve gone up against 0121, and just like us, they are the best junior heavyweights in the UK, so we have no shame in losing to them whatsoever.
“We receive a standing ovation, or the crowd go crazy at every PROGRESS show. We are proving each time that when we go in the ring, we can and will produce magic.”
Newman was due to fight Wayne in September 2022, but unfortunately, the latter picked up an injury in the days leading up to the match at TNT Extreme Wrestling v GCW, and he was unable to compete.
However, Wayne promised Newman they would do battle at the next earliest opportunity, and he has kept to his word.
Newman’s next job is to follow in the footsteps of his CPF brother, Danny Black, and take on World recognised talent from the USA. Black delivered a five star performance against former WWE and AEW superstar Lio Rush in January, and now it is Newman’s turn to carry the CPF mantle at Chapter 150.
“I’m looking forward to our match,” admitted Newman. “Everywhere I go and no matter what I do, I know in my head and heart that I am the best.
“Danny had his match with Lio, he lost but he put on an amazing performance. I did the same at Super Strong Style, I had an amazing match, but I still lost.
“My message to Nick is, we will go eye-to-eye and toe-to-toe in that ring, and win, draw or lose, you will shake my hand at the end of the match.
“I am going to be the best junior heavyweight in the World. In my heart and in my soul, I know no-one can stop me.”
With two of the hottest young stars going face to face, this will be a match that in years to come you will want to say… I was there.
