PROGRESS Wrestling fans were given a real treat to kick start 2023, when former AEW and WWE superstar Lio Rush made his debut against Danny Black in a match that will live long in the memory!
Rush made the perfect start to his life at PROGRESS by scoring the victory, and in the aftermath of his contest against the CPF high-flyer, he described PROGRESS as ‘home’ and declared his ambitions to return to the flagship wrestling company in the UK very soon. Speaking after PROGRESS Wrestling debut, Rush said: “The win against Black has put me in the eyes of all the roster. I am going to make them all realise that I should be on their radar. PROGRESS fans know what big event is around the corner.
“PROGRESS is to me the number one promotion in England, and I feel like it’s been talked about for years.
“It has such a historic line-up of competitors who have come in and done great work. I can see PROGRESS being home for me, so thank you to all the fans that have followed me in my journey throughout the years and have continued to motivate me to become the best wrestler I can be.”
Well, Rush is coming back for Chapter 150: When The Man Comes Around, when he goes up against 0121’s Man Like DeReiss at the Electric Ballroom on Sunday 26th February.
Dereiss heads into the match fresh off a victory alongside his 0121 brothers, as they saw off the challenge of Black and the CPF in a thrilling four-man tag team lucha rules match at Chapter 149.
Rush will have his work cut out if he is going to maintain his winning start to life at PROGRESS, with Dereiss waiting and ready for a fight at Chapter 150.
He said: “Lio Rush, on Sunday 26th February, we meet in the ring and it will be a sick match. We know you are sick at wrestling. I don’t need to do a generic promo because we know we will set the PROGRESS Wrestling ring alight when we face each other.
“My message to you is bring your A game because we are going to take over Chapter 150. I will see you soon!”
