PROGRESS Wrestling is thrilled to announce Chapter 170: Wrestling Never Sleeps, taking place on Monday, 26th August 2024, at the iconic Electric Ballroom in Camden, London.
A true highlight of the evening will be the appearance of DEFY World Champion KENTA, who will defend his title at this monumental event. KENTA, a globally renowned wrestler with a storied career in both Japan and the United States, brings his unparalleled skill and intensity to the PROGRESS ring for a must-see DEFY Championship match. Since winning the DEFY World Championship on June 3, 2023, KENTA has proven to be a dominant champion, defeating Nick Wayne and then successfully defending his title against top-tier competitors such as Bryan Keith.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have KENTA defend the DEFY World Championship at PROGRESS Wrestling,” said PROGRESS Co-owners Lee McAteer and Martyn Best. “We will always look for incredible opportunities to bring in top international stars and provide our fans with world-class wrestling. Our partnership with DEFY allows us to elevate our shows and offer unforgettable experiences to those that buy a ticket and we can’t wait for everyone to find out who we have picked as his opponent.”
Matt Farmer, co-founder of DEFY Wrestling, shared his excitement about the collaboration saying: “Working with PROGRESS has been fantastic, and it exemplifies the spirit of independent wrestling. KENTA making the DEFY World Championship a truly worldwide title is a testament to our shared vision. This will be his third defence in England, having previously defeated Mark Haskins and Luke Jacobs, establishing the championship’s prestige on a global scale.”
Chapter 170 is set to cap off an incredible Bank Holiday weekend of wrestling, which also includes AEW’s second UK show at Wembley Stadium. PROGRESS Wrestling will be the fourth and final big show in London that weekend and in Camden, they aim to prove that WRESTLING NEVER SLEEPS.
